BFE joins the Pact for Skills of the European Commission

We are proud to share that the Business Foundation for Education (BFE) is now an official member of #PactForSkills – the European Commission’s flagship initiative under the European Skills Agenda. The Pact brings together public institutions, employers, education providers, social partners, NGOs and civil society organisations working together to support upskilling and reskilling for Europe’s green and digital transition. Today, the Pact community includes more than 4,000 organisations, united by the shared goal of building a more resilient, adaptable and competitive European workforce.

Why is the Pact so significant?
Since its launch in 2020, more than 6.1 million people have been trained, €960 million has been invested in skills development, over 134,500 stakeholders have joined partnerships, and 95,500 training courses have been developed or updated. This represents a truly European scale of impact, accelerating how people and organisations adapt to the future of work.

As a leading organisation in lifelong learning and career guidance in Bulgaria, BFE has contributed at a systemic level to human capital development for more than 20 years: 1,000+ certified career professionals, established guidance infrastructure in 600 schools and 36 universities, access to quality career services for more than 200,000 citizens annually, and participation in 60+ European projects. Our long-standing experience in building skills systems, employability, and career adaptability naturally aligns with the mission of the Pact.

📌 Our commitments for the next year:
• We will strengthen our support for young people, professionals, adult learners, vulnerable groups, and jobseekers to develop career management skills, labour market awareness and adaptability.
• We will continue to promote a culture of lifelong learning and Industry 4.0 upskilling through training, career guidance and mentoring, as well as through sharing good practices with private, public, educational and NGO organisations.

💡 Why does this matter?
Because the future of Europe’s competitiveness depends on people and their skills. By joining #PactForSkills, BFE reinforces its role as a bridge between education, business, career development and public policy, helping ensure that more people and organisations are prepared for the professions and challenges of the future.

Together, we invest in skills, resilience and opportunities for Europe.
