BFE is a part of the exciting Level Up project, which started in September 2017 with the aim to promote VET through game based online platform. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Level Up will explore game-based learning approaches to develop an interactive tool for use in guidance sessions with young people. This attractive approach will contribute to breakdown stereotypes around vocational routes being a \u2018second choice\u2019 to academic higher education, by highlighting that learning outcomes in vocational training are as varied and complex as those found in university courses etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is implemented by 7 leading career guidance, technological and VET organizations: Aspire-Igen<\/a> Group (Coordinator)and Caped Koala<\/a> – UK, Cork Institute of Technology<\/a>\u2013 Ireland, The Government Office of B\u00e9k\u00e9s County<\/a> – Hungary, Business Foundation for Education<\/a> \u2013 Bulgaria, Sataedu<\/a> \u2013 Finland and VHS Cham<\/a>\u2013 Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The kick off meeting took place in Cham, Germany in November 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partners will develop a game which guides young people through the benefits of vocational training. At the same, the game-based tool will link into wider labour market information, in order to demonstrate to young people the value which vocational training has on long-term career progression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Level Up looks to create an impact on the quality of guidance provided to young people considering education options by developing resources which both engage learners and upskill the support staff who work alongside them. In terms of staff development, the LMSI resources and guides to digital tools produced by the project will help to improve the quality and standard of guidance, as staff feel more confident in both promoting VET and using digital tools in their work. Similarly, this increased staff engagement, coupled with the direct interaction with young people through the GBL platform, will in turn mean young people are making better informed decisions about their education and training. Ultimately this will mean that they are developing skills more directly suited to the needs of the labour market, and so begin to address the skills mismatches found across Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
