We are the STEAM Forward project \u2013 an Erasmus+ initiative, involving Prosveta-Sofia \u041f\u0440\u043e\u0441\u0432\u0435\u0442\u0430 (coordinator) and Business Foundation for Education\/\u0424\u043e\u043d\u0434\u0430\u0446\u0438\u044f \u043d\u0430 \u0431\u0438\u0437\u043d\u0435\u0441\u0430 \u0437\u0430 \u043e\u0431\u0440\u0430\u0437\u043e\u0432\u0430\u043d\u0438\u0435\u0442\u043e in Bulgaria, Computer and Technology Institute Diophantus \u0399\u03a4\u03a5\u0395 “\u0394\u03b9\u03cc\u03c6\u03b1\u03bd\u03c4\u03bf\u03c2” in Greece, HETEL association in the Basque Country, Spain, and IMPACTsci Europe in Portugal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We aim to: \u2022 empower educators as career guides \u2022 ignite students\u2019 passion for STEAM \u2022 champion gender equality in STEAM \u2022 and build a sustainable STEAM career-edu network. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To do this, in the next 2 years, we will: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Develop an interactive training course for teachers and equip them with digital tools, methodologies, and career guidance strategies for navigating STEAM career paths\/ <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Train 25 trainers to gain advanced expertise in STEAM career guidance through hands-on training, school visits, and strategy development in an international mobility experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Organize national webinars to spread the methodology across 150+ teachers. \u2022 Increase students\u2019 awareness of career opportunities and future skills needs by engaging them in pilot activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Challenge gender biases, showcasing female role models, mentorship programs, and targeted initiatives to encourage girls\u2019 participation in STEM fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Establish a community of 200+ STEAM educators and career professionals to promote best practices, share knowledge, and ensure long-term impact beyond the project\u2019s lifespan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The STEAM Forward consortium had its first online meeting. We are planning our first project activities. In the next month, we will develop the STEAM Forward methodology and start designing our massive online training course for teachers. It will build STEAM competencies, train teachers how to apply project-based learning and inclusive STEAM strategies, and foster students’ interest in STEAM areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
